Weekly Hip Stretch – One Of My Personal Faves

Yes, again(!) this targets the TFL (tensor fasciae latae) muscle, BUT this stretch is an overall hip stretch. It gets both internal and external rotators, front structures, back structures… it’s all over hip love. 

I love this stretch.  It’s one of my favorites.  Plus, it’s easy to add a little upper body lengthening as well.


Illuminate me…

You may know this as the “windshield wiper”.  But there are a few of key points to really get the most out of this stretch.  Watch for them in the video:

  • how to keep from irritating your low back

  • how to increase the openness in the ribcage

  • how to come out of the stretch with the biggest benefit to the spine


Try it…

The only thing we’ll need is something to lie on. 
I prefer a floor as it doesn’t have the softness and instability that a mattress or couch does.
